CICC Cleantech is proud to announce that Emefcy who participated in the CICC 2008 Cleantech Tour raised Five milion in funding led by Pond Venture Partners, Israel Cleantech Ventures and Plan B Ventures.
Emefcy's technology uses microbial fuel cells to produce electricity or hydrogen from wastewater, by utilizing waste dissolved in water as a source of energy. The company estimates its target market at $100 billion a year.
According to Eytan Levy in a Globes article: "The capital raised will help us set up a commercial pilot. We've already established laboratory pilots on increasingly larger scales. Progress to a commercial pilot is based on the successful results of the laboratory pilots."
